Andrew Mihal

Andrew Mihal is a 2nd year in MA Economics and Philosophy. Formerly the Freshers Rep for McIntosh Hall, he is also social media representative for the St Andrews Typhoons and social representative for Breakaway. 

Fun Fact: Andrew knows how to weld and drive a forklift

Rebecca Benstead

Rebecca is a 2nd year Theology student who is glad to be returning to McIntosh Hall as part of the committee. She is also Secretary for St Andrews Catholic Society.

Fun fact: Rebecca spends her weekends at home dressing up as a Disney Princess for Children’s parties!

Takaaki Iwai

Originally from Japan, Takaaki Iwai is a third-year student for MA (Honours) Mathematics and Russian. He is also Treasurer of New Global Normal and Associate Trainer of sparqs (student partnership in quality Scotland). This is his third year of living in McIntosh Hall. 

Hobbies: Japanese calligraphy, classical music and art history.

Maya Kruger

Maya Kruger is a 1st year student studying for an MChem in Chemistry. She is also a maths tutor and a national youth board member at Bite Back.

Hobbies: Ice Skating (badly), baking, and cycling.

Social Convenor

Xavi Stanislawski

Ksawery (Xavi) Stanislawski is a 1st-year student studying molecular biology and hopes to progress to either medicine or disease research. With experience in event planning, he plans to give his all to make this year memorable.

Hobbies: Reading about Greek mythology with a matcha in a quiet cafe, cooking with friends, and hiking.

Every September an election is called where all hall residents are qualified to run for all of the positions listed below! Read them all and find your way to make a difference to McIntosh!

Ball Convenor - Luana van Oranje

Luana van Oranje is a 1st year student in MA Modern History and Art History, originally from the Netherlands. She is also currently on The Saint newspaper team and is a sailor (and now somehow also a salsa dancer?!), and in between all of this will be planning the Mac Ball!  

Public Relations Officer - Sienna Kucherhan

Sienna Kucherhan is a first year student in MA English, International Relations, and Film Studies. Alongside her duties as McIntosh Hall’s PR Officer, she is the First Year Film Studies Rep and a St Andrews student ambassador. When she’s not chatting to literally everyone she meets, you can find her in the library or grabbing a matcha at Black Sheep.

Fun fact: Sienna has passed out on top of the release hatch of a Globetrotter airplane in the middle of evasive manoeuvre tactics...and would 10/10 do it again.

Hall Improvements Officer - Hallie Meola

Hallie Meola is a 1st year studying International Relations. She enjoys reading, watching films, and listening to music from Pink Floyd to Tchaikovsky.

Libraries and Tech Officer - Zach Gibbon

Zach is a 1st year studying Classics and French. Loves long runs on the beach and reading anything from Japanese contemporary fiction, ancient Persian History, to theological criticism. When he’s not reading you can find him listening to Dominic Fike or at 601.

Entertainment Officer - Shantiv Monga

Shantiv Monga is a first year student studying Biology and Sustainable Development. He enjoys singing, making ceramics, playing sports, and spending time with his friends. He loves listening to Taylor Swift and Rock music.

Fun fact: If you hang out with him enough, he will spontaneously start singing a random song that happens to be stuck in his head at the moment.

Charities Officer - Huda Kolpekar

Huda is a first year BSc Physics student. She is currently the Charities Officer in the McIntosh Hall Representative Subcommittee. Being sociable and collaborative, she hopes to work on projects that positively impact the community. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring different societies, reading, and spending time in nature.

Fun fact: She’s a total tea snob.

Catering Representative - Freya Burrows White

Freya Burrows White is a 1st year in Psychology, Mangement, and International Relations. She is the catering rep this year and has no other real responsibilities, but she loves eating food so is highly qualified. 

Fun fact: If you want something to get done, feed me chocolate (Classic Dairy Milk) and I’ll consider it.

Environmental Representative - Stephanie Morton

Stephanie Morton is a first-year student studying Ma English. She was the Eco Leader at her high school and worked as a landscape gardener for a year.

Hobbies: horse riding, reading and baking

Fun Fact: Stephanie loves Taylor Swift and hot chocolate!

Health and Wellbeing Representative - Sky Crawford

Sky Crawford is a first-year student MA (Honors) International Relations and Middle East Studies. They also play Water Polo, write and debate about current events, and write and read Arabic. 

Hobbies: writing, clubbing, being team mom, climbing trees, and first aid

Social Representative - Aislinn Moloney

Aislinn Moloney is a first year studying International Relations and Modern History. She is from New York City and a fun fact about her is that she is on the competitive swim team! 

Social Media Representative - Nicole Madsen

Nicole Madsen is a first year student in BA (Honours) Sustainable, Management, and Geography. She is the social media representative for McIntosh Hall.

Fun fact: Nicole grew up in the Bahamas and cannot live without music, coffee, and chocolate.

Social Representative - Michael Kelly

Michael is one of our super cool social reps. He is from Upstate New York, USA. He loves yoga, parties, and Taylor Swift. He is incredibly excited to get to work with our amazing social team and is always willing to hear your ideas :)

Sports Captain - Luke Laskey

Luke Laskey is a 1st year in MA International Relations and Medieval History. Formerly the captain for his high school baseball team and All-State outfielder in New Mexico, Luke now shreds the slopes with St Andrews Snowsports, plays in the Scottish National Baseball League for the Tayport Breakers, and has an insane obsession with American sports. What Luke is most excited to do this year is destroy and humiliate Sallies in the upcoming football match.

Fun Fact: Luke is known for screaming and crying in front of the TV every time is favorite American football team loses.

Freshers' Representative - Eleanor Boosey

Eleanor Boosey is a first year student studying History. In her spare time she enjoys listening to music and skiing.


Fun fact: she is from Devon and (in true British style) loves tea!

Returners' Representative - Jan Kudla

Jan Kudla is a second year integrated-masters physics student. As returners rep he wants to relay the advice of the returners onto the committee as well as fulfil his personal goal of renewing and restocking out the games cupboard.

Jan also enjoys climbing, diving, chamomile tea and frogs.
